Alchemy Yoga. Jennifer Martinez. In this workshop, a regular yoga practice becomes a ritual that focuses energy. That energy can then be sent to an intention, or sankalpa, giving it strength and presence. Join JL in this yoga ritual styled to rethink how we ‘come to the mat’. Yoga asanas are adaptable for most bodies and prior knowledge is helpful for this workshop. Bring any yoga props that you have such as a mat, blocks and a strap.  Jennifer completed yoga teacher training in 2018 and immediately started teaching yoga and meditation classes in San Francisco. She also has training in Yoga Nidra, and It’s Yoga Kids, a 25 hour course specific to teaching yoga to children. Her style is flow based to nurture spirit and allows each person to determine what degree of challenge they want for their body. Long restorative postures and options for each asana are offered for all classes.

Ancestral Healing: A Journey to the River of Blood.  Canu Nodiad. The River of Blood is the source of humanity’s ongoing creation, common heritage, and ancestry.  Canu will prepare and lead us on a journey to the River of Blood for ancestral healing and resolution of ancestral trauma.  In the Faery Seership tradition the River of Blood is a connective stream of consciousness and genetic thread that moves through us and collectively weaves the fabric of our destiny as a species.  Visiting the River Blood can provide healing of ancestral and family traumas as well as benefit humanity as a whole.  Canu is a Georgian Tradition of Witchcraft Elder, Faery Seer, and past First Officer of Covenant of the Goddess and Everglades Moon Local Council.  He has led many seers and others to the River of Blood and is committed to making ancestral healing available to all seekers.

Aphrodite All Connecting. Yeshe Matthews. What if Love was the 5th element? The force that animates and brings all other elements from the state of potential into the state of actualization? Devotees of Aphrodite have long known that she is the energetic matrix that enlivens and unites all living and cosmic beings. In the ancient world, Aphrodite was worshiped and petitioned as the source of love, beauty, and pleasure, but she was so much more: the fertility of the Earth, the greening of the fields, the waters of life, and the vault of starry heaven. In this ritual, we will sing praises to Aphrodite, work with her expression in the four elements, and honor her as the Quintessential fabric of life itself. All attendees are invited to bring a petition for themselves, and a petition for the well-being of their families, friends, or community, as we weave the girdle of Aphrodite's vast love around Summer Magick Fest, and then carry that energy out into our lives after the event.

Awakening The Sky WithinIvo Dominguez, Jr. In this ritual we will summon and stir the powers of the sky that live within us and awaken to the grandeur within our souls.   The axiom of “As Above, So Below” is made real in a new way as we welcome in our starry nature and higher selves.

Deadly Nightshade: The Tale of Earth's Witchiest Plant.  Coby Michael. Deadly Nightshade is one of the most notorious plants on Earth. It has been used for centuries in medicine, magic and murder. A plant of liberation and personal power, as a spiritual ally belladonna can teach us a lot about our own sovereignty. As one of the most well-known witching herbs, deadly nightshade has virtually unlimited magical potential. In this presentation, we will investigate the chemical properties and medicinal uses of this plant, its effects and how those can be applied to ritual practice. Attendees will learn innovative ways to incorporate this powerful plant ally into magical practice for healing, harming and harnessing occult power.

Divine Embodiment: Assumption, Drawing Down, Aspecting, Possession. Ivo Dominguez, Jr. Most magickal traditions use some form of divine embodiment in their rituals in which a priestess or a priest becomes, for a time, the vehicle for the presence of one of the Great Ones. When it works, it is awe-inspiring, and can act as a great catalyst for change. When it fails, and is no more than role playing or ritual theater, it can encourage cynicism, disillusionment, and diminished expectations of what is possible in ritual. The strengths and the weaknesses of assumption of god forms, drawing down, aspecting, and divine possession will be compared to each other.

Emerald: Quest for the Hidden StoneNicholas Pearson. Among gemstones, this gemstone is unique in its body of magickal lore. This verdant stone is featured in myths of the Holy Grail, Emerald Tablet, Watcher angels, and Great Mother. It is long associated with the transmission of secret--and sacred--knowledge, including the secrets of the ars magicae. Learn how knowing the truth can be beneficial to your magickal workings and practice.  We explore the history of familiars in Witchcraft, finding and working with familiars, and how to work magick with your pets.

Hedgeriding: Experiencing the Liminal Between Animism and Witchcraft. Nathan Hall Animism is something that’s been gaining traction in witchcraft circles in recent years, but what is it and what does it mean to incorporate an animist practice into your craft? Do you need to be a witch in order to embrace animism? We’ll briefly discuss the history and how working in an animist framework can begin to make important shifts to our consciousness. We will also discuss how shifting consciousness is a journey with the shadow self. Finally, we’ll do an exercise to experience making contact with spirits of the land and learn how to respectfully, safely and mutually benefit from the interaction. Nathan Hall (Foxglove) is an animist, witch and writer who lives at the intersection of much unceded land, including the Taíno, Jeaga, Miccosukee, Mascogo and Seminole. J. shares her own practical magic for facilitating the fantastical in the face of such nonsense: how she slays deadlines, cultural conditioning, and self-doubt with respect to writing and singing songs for a living.  Expect a few spontaneous live and unplugged numbers from S. J. and learn about many options or techniques which can be applied not just to writing music or stories, but also to spell work, ritual craft, and all artistic disciplines.

Living Portraits of Aphrodite. Yeshe Matthews. Aphrodite's legendary beauty inspired paintings, sculpture, song, poetry, theatre, and ceremonial offerings from ancient times until today, and the wave of creative expression that carries her vibration is found in all lands, among people of every shape, size, background, and age. Her beauty is manifest in nature, in art, in our heartfelt care for those we love, and in our communities. In this workshop, we will look at examples of Aphrodite and her divine companions in art throughout the ages, learn songs of devotion, and create living tableaux portraits of some of the works that reflect her diverse beauty. In the process, we will offer our devotion, laughter, and delight in her honor. During this workshop, there will be adaptable dance and movement suitable for all levels of mobility, sacred song, ritual blessing of our bodies from head to toe, and opportunities to acknowledge the amazing beauty found in each of us.

Living with the Orisha 24/7.  Jose Antonio Leyva Ferre. A central tenet of Lucumi, the term practitioners prefer to Santeria, is service to the Orisha.  One of the many ways initiates serve the Orisha is by building sacred spaces that bring together many of the favorite colors, foods, and sacred substances each Orisha prefers, but there are many simple daily practices that also connect the practitioner to the Orisha.  Join Jose and his family for a discussion of what it means to live surrounded by the Orisha and Orisha practice.  He will host a Q & A on Orisha worship, Eggun veneration and other Lucumi practices.  Raised by a large extended family of Lucumi initiates as well as practitioners of Caribbean Spiritism and Palo Mayombe, Jose has a profound love and respect for all spiritual traditions.  He is also a practitioner of Kriya Yoga, a devotee of Mother Kali, and a former teenage Wiccan.

Memoirs Of a High Priest. Plant Spirit Magick.  Ivo Dominguez, Jr.   The use of herbs, resins, and plant materials in magick and healing requires more than good recipes and solid techniques for their creation and use. In addition to the physical and psychological impact of the materials, there are also a wide array of energies and spiritual entities that are accessed through plant materials. This workshop will primarily focus on the magick and energy of plant materials. This will include insights and methods on how to use both accepted lore and intuition for the creation of new recipes, use of plant materials in altars, tools, etc.  You will also be introduced to several ways to awaken the powers that reside in the plant materials, and to communicate and negotiate with their spirits.

Sacred Dance & Blessing Ritual. S. J. Tucker.  You are invited to commit an act of community magic!  No dance training or musical skill required, all levels of mobility welcome- yes, even if you need to stay seated.  We will come together to create sacred space and just a little bit of spell work without any spoken words, using movement, sound, and rhythm.  Please be there at start time so that S. J. can make sure you know what to expect, and so that you get to be part of the releasing and blessing spell we will do together after we've gotten into the groove.  Wear comfortable clothing, bring a drum if you wish, and let's make some magic!  Before any dancing starts, we'll ground and center together through breath work and gentle motion, then cast our circle and call the elements using only our drum beats and simple hand & body movements, nobody saying a word, though humming or other wordless vocalizing is more than welcome.

Sacred Plant Medicine PanelPriestess Mia Z and guests.  Conversations about psychedelics seem to be sprouting up like mushrooms. Psychedelics have only recently entered the national discourse but humanity’s relationship with plant medicine goes back centuries. In this moderated panel we will consider the current landscape and historical perspectives on various plant medicines, and look at how they have been used in spiritual and therapeutic settings.  All levels of knowledge are welcome.  There will be a Q&A section, so bring your questions, curiosity, and an open mind.  Priestess Mia Z is a professionally trained life and business coach.  She is an ordained priestess in the Mt Shasta Goddess Temple and a member of Beachfyre Coven in Miami.  Mia is deeply committed to helping others grow through compassionate life coaching. Shadow Work with Baneful Herbs: Sinister Allies to Lead Us through the Darkness. Coby Michael.  There are many different ways that a plant can be considered “baneful” or taboo.  These qualities set certain plants apart from those that humans find more comfortable.  How can connecting with these plant spirits through ritual help us work through some of the most uncomfortable and taboo aspects of life? In this class, we will discuss the different types of “bane” and how those qualities give us clues to that plant’s power.  We will look at the occult properties of plants like deadly nightshade, foxglove, rose, and bramble and how they can be used to empower and uplift during the darkest times. We will discuss safe ways to work with the magickal energies and spirits of these plant allies in ritual for shadow work, transition, transformation and healing.

Summer Solstice and Summer Magic.  Druid Ieuan Amwythig. Alban Hefin is the modern druid celebration of the summer solstice, a celebration of the time of greatest light and conquest of the Mabon, born on Alban Eilir (Spring Equinox). This ritual will focus on the energy of summer and contrast it with the energy and magic of other points in the year. Using  imagery of the defeat of the Oak King by the Holly King and other folk traditions born out of the druid revival of the late seventeenth century, we will consider the unique opportunities and challenges of connecting with the various seasonal energies when living in a location like Florida that does not have the more dramatic seasonal changes found in the places many of our traditions developed.  Ieuan Amwythig is a Druid Graduate of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids. He served as chef druid of an independent druid grove (501c3 religious institution) in Nashville from 2009 until 2021. He is ordained as a Druid Priest and serves as a Druid celebrant for weddings and handfastings as well as other rites of passage. Ieuan grew up in an Appalachian family where folk magic was readily practiced by his mother, aunts, and grandmother, and learned many of these traditions.

The Southern Gothic Oracle: How One Artist Wove Stories of Folklore into a System of Divination. Stacey Williams-Ng. Join artist and creator Stacey Williams-Ng as she discusses the stories behind her first two oracle decks, both of which were based in tales and traditions of Southern folklore. In this interactive session, participants will learn how the artist and writer took personal stories and made them universal.  Afterwards we will break into groups to brainstorm our own ideas for magical creations. Stacey is a former graphic design instructor, creator of the Southern Gothic Oracle deck and the Southern Botanic Oracle deck, and has been a professional artist for over 20 years.

Thelema and Gardnerian Witchcraft: A Working Relationship.  Joanne McCombs.  Throughout the study of magick and witchcraft two names stand out to most practitioners: Aleister Crowley and Gerald Gardner. Both men were notable in their fields, both men were accomplished authors, and both men changed the face of magick to what we know it as today. Many modern practitioners feel that Thelema and Wicca or Crowley and Gardner do not mix. One being known as a masculine art and the other as a feminine art.  In this workshop I will explain why nothing could be further from the truth. Let’s look at the working relationship Thelema and Gardnerian Wicca have always had with each other and older esoteric traditions. Joanne McCombs is a Gardnerian high priestess and has been an OTO initiate since 1998.

Understanding the Foundations of Yoga. Jennifer Martinez Yoga beyond the practice of Asanas, or poses, is relatively unexplored in Western culture. This workshop will explain the eight  limbs of yoga starting with Pranayama, working with Asanas, and introducing the concepts of Yamas, Niyamas,Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and finally Samadhi.  This is an active class and all bodies are welcome. Modifications for Asanas will be offered. If you breathe you can do yoga. Please dress comfortably and bring yoga props such as a mat, blocks and blankets if you have them. Chairs will be available for those that prefer to use one.

The Chthonic Cults of Magna Graecia. Oracle Hekataios. Unlike the Athenian and many of the other mainland Greek city-states where the sites of Olympian worship developed, the lands of Southern Italy and Sicily gave birth to more chthonic Mystery Cults. These areas were known as Mahna Graecia - Greater Greece - due to the sheer numbers of temples. Here we explore the basis of what makes a cult chthonic, why they arose specifically in these places, and explore ancient examples as well as modern-day survivals. Oracle Hekataios is a modern-day seer, iatromantis, Strix, and initiated Wiccan. He is the Hierophant and Founder of the Ophic Strix Tradition, a High Priest (Minos) in the Minoan Brotherhood, and an initiate in the Alexandrian Tradition of Witchcraft. Find him @oracle_hekataios.

The Universal Language of Symbols: How to Read Oracle Cards like a Pro. Stacey Williams-Ng. Join headliner and artist Stacey Williams-Ng in a fun session on the universal language of symbolism and color. As an illustrator and tarot card designer, Stacey will discuss how professional artists use color and symbols to make children's books, road signs, food packaging and more, which means if you can drive a car, or navigate a grocery store, you probably already have everything you need to trust your intuition. Using cross-cultural and cross-historical examples, Stacey can open doors to symbols and visual language, even for those who find reading oracle cards inaccessible.

More workshops to come soon!
